Life and Debt is the first entry in the film section of our blog. Film like music can be a powerful artform to help raise awareness and bring about change. Film is a wonderful medium to merge visual images, music, as well as narrated text. This stunning film by Stephanie Black is a masterpiece and a must see for anyone interested in global issues. Black uses a kaleidescope of powerful images layered with a powerful soundtrack to make simple what often appear to be complex global economic issues.

But as Stephanie Black’s powerful documentary “Life and Debt” illustrates with an impressive (and depressing) acuity, globalization can have a devastating impact on third world countries.
